![]() Classwork/Homework prepares students for upcoming lessons. Classwork/Homework extends and generalizes concepts. Classwork/Homework teaches responsibility and helps students develop positive study habits. Most of the time, homework is classwork that has not been completed in class. |
The 5th grade teachers feel it is very important that all assignments be completed. If class-time is used wisely, students should not have more than 30-45 minutes of homework nightly. All assignments must be completed by the given due date, which will usually be the following day. LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! If the work is not turned in, it will become a zero and may not be made up. Partial credit will be given for incomplete work. I realize that sometimes unexpected things come up. So, each student will have the opportunity to make up ONE late assignment per subject per six weeks grading period. These assignments will not be accepted unless it is accompanied by the “Six Week Re-Do Form”. It is your child’s responsibility to keep up with these forms which will be handed out on the first day of each new six week grading period. Students who are absent will have one day to make up work for each day missed. I urge you to help your child remember to do his or her homework every day. Please remember that unexcused absences will result in zero’s for that day’s work. Please check your child's assignment book and sign to verify that the homework is neat and complete. |
![]() In fifth grade, students can expect long term assignments where they must plan their work and meet deadlines. Students should have a M.O.O.S.E. Binder. Please click here for more information about MOOSE. This site created and maintained by Theresa Roberts; 2000.
