Fifth Grade
Watch Your Child Blossom!
A Letter for Parents
Congratulations! You are the parent of a fifth-grader here at Northview Middle
School! You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow and mature
this year. Your child has had the seeds of learning planted, and
during fifth grade, those seeds will grow and blossom! You will see changes in
your child's thinking. The change will be dramatic -- just compare a tiny seed
with a full-grown sunflower! That's the kind of growth I hope you'll see this
year!
Ways to Help Your Child Bloom
Parent-Teacher
Communication
The loveliest flowers usually have the best
gardener -- and that's you! Staying involved in your child's education is the
key to a successful year. Engage your child in conversation about his/her day,
but know that children won't always give out much information. If you can get
them talking, both you and your child's lives will be enriched!
Another way to stay involved is to check
our classroom website. You'll find it PACKED with activities, reminders, class
work/homework, helpful links, projects, etc.
You can also keep track of your child's
progress with my online gradebook. Just give me your
email address, and I'll send you the passwords you'll need to access your
child's grades!
In addition to progress reports, report
cards, and conferences, I am always available to meet or speak with you. If
it is not urgent, please jot a note, and I will respond as soon as possible.
You may call the school at 933-7985 or e-mail me as well. In return, I will
contact you by e-mail, note or telephone if there is something that I'd like to
discuss.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Theresa Roberts
